Senior Designer (full-time, freelance)

Job spec:

We’re looking for a gifted Senior Designer with a can-do attitude and a solid foundation in design. You must have a proven track record in delivering results on a consistent basis, be enthusiastic and willing to take complete responsibility for a design project from conceptualisation to implementation.

Tasks:
  • Creating, developing and delivering creative, strategically considered design across print/digital media
  • Effectively visualising and creating concepts, giving direction on style, imagery, typography and iconography
  • Creating new and original designs from scratch based on client specification, needs and brand image
  • Balancing creative excellence and commerciality to complete projects on-time, on-budget and on-brief
  • Working to a creative brief, questioning where necessary, and showing understanding and relevance to the target market, resulting in successful first-time execution
  • Taking a leadership role in pitches when required and a lead role on campaigns/projects
  • Managing integrated campaigns as well as individual projects
  • Ensuring all creative output is of the highest standard
  • Evaluating and managing production resources to enhance high productivity
  • Liaising with team members to maximise creativity and excellence in performance and delivery
  • Ensuring team members work within established deadlines
  • Creating and maintaining files for all creative assets and resources
  • Collaborating with client services to ensure campaign/project success
Essential skills:
  • Degree in graphic design (preferably) and three to five years’ senior designer experience
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, and other design software programs
  • Creative, with the ability to make designs from scratch
  • Knowledge of responsive web design and multi-touch devices
  • Ability to communicate and translate complex propositions
  • Knowledge of printing procedures, photography and illustration
  • An excellent understanding of brand and corporate guidelines, their constraints and opportunities
  • Good communication, organisational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrable authority in decision-making
  • A passion for creativity, from conceptual thinking to final output
  • A good understanding of B2B and B2C marketing
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a positive, can-do approach
  • Methodical and organised, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong desire to learn and share knowledge within the team
  • Able to work cooperatively with colleagues at all levels

Knowledge and experience of the following are advantageous: After Effects; Premiere Pro; Cinema 4D or any other 3D software.

Web developers

Skills in C#/.NET, Node, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, CSS and My/MS SQL. Knowledge and experience of the following are advantageous: accessibility; usability; responsive design and build; Kentico CMS; WordPress; mobile app development; Eloqua.

Copywriters

Proven skills in advertising, direct mail or corporate/product literature across a range of industries including IT, telecoms, education, finance and consumer goods.
